I'm working on this sweater for Georgia and I was hoping to have it finished
before Phoenix gets here.  We'll see if that happens or not ;)

I finally got Nixie's blanket finished!  So happy with the outcome.
It is incredibly pillowy and soft.

Georgia knows exactly where I keep Phoenix's blanket that I'm knitting, and she knows
she's not allowed to take it out of the bag.  So she just goes over and sits there with her hand
in the bag, playing with Nixie's blanket while sucking her thumb.

I love making things for friends.  Can't wait to share that finished project on the blog soon!

Remember me working on a sweater for Phoenix's little friend?  Well that's
it pictured above!  With Georgia's current favorite book.  That was our gift
to bring for Leah's baby shower.  I love personal gifts, and seeing as I made
the sweater, and that's G's favorite book, this one felt very personal and it
meant a lot that Leah liked it!

Leah's baby is due just 15 days before Phoenix, that's why I call her Phoenix's
little friend :D it's so fun to be pregnant with a friend!  I've been blessed with
someone close in due date through both of my pregnancies.

Do you ever make stupid, rookie mistakes when you know better?
Such as, not checking your gauge?

-.-

I tried a couple new-to-me techniques and I guess I was so excited
about them that I forgot to check my gauge.  I put a bunch of time into
this project - a baby bonnet - and then I realized it would barely even fit
Georgia's doll.  Not cool!  You can bet I won't be making that mistake again.

Meet Pumpkin!  Georgia's "big sister" bunny.

I am always amazed by how much Georgia loves yarn.
She'll beg me for the skein of yarn sitting on the table, and the
moment I give it to her she's snuggling it and usually goes to sit
down and suck her thumb.  She truly finds comfort in it!

I've decided to make her a "big sister" gift for when Phoenix
arrives.  I searched and searched for the right pattern and finally
found it.  I wanted to make this gorgeous octopus, but figured
I just didn't have the time to focus on it before October.  So, my
next favorite animal that I found was this Big Cuddly Bunny.

I really think Georgia will love it.  So far it is turning out well
and I haven't had any problems with it (we'll see how I do when
I get to the ears).  It's knitting up rather quickly and easily! :)

I'm using a lightweight ring as my stitch marker since I don't
have any jumbo stitch markers.  Hey... you do what you gotta
do... and it works!

This is what happens when I let Georgia carry around a hank of yarn for a week.
A tangled mess, I tell ya.  Although, I'm getting pretty good at untangling yarn ;)

Finishing up Baby Lynn's sweater.  I'm not sure why I always
avoided things with buttons... they're not hard at all!  These pins
are marking the spots where buttons needed to go :)

Another sweater in the works!  This one is for Phoenix's friend that's
due 2 weeks before her :)  It's knitting up quicker than Nixie's, I think
mainly because I'm familiar with the pattern and don't have to think
about it nearly as much.  I can just knit away!  :D

Finally got Phoenix's name picture on her blanket :)
The blanket's not done yet (I'm just working on it here
and there) but it's coming along!  I'm loving this yarn.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love cats and knitting?
I guess I'm a Grandma at heart ;)

Apparently sometimes, it can be difficult to keep your butt
on the couch.

I've really been enjoying knitting some things for Phoenix!
Here are her blanket and sweater, both a work in progress.
I can't wait to show her off with the finished products!  :D

Just a chill Sunday afternoon.  Knitting for my little one in utero
with my favorite female cat :)

Here is Cove's blanket!  I'll post more pictures on our family blog soon (and
link to them here, once they're posted).

She is a girl after my own heart.  Thoroughly enjoying the Knit Picks catalog.

"Aah?" meaning "on" or "off" (you just have to decide for yourself which one
she's asking for).  She can't quite reach the switch, but she'll bring things over
to stand on if you won't come over to switch the light for her.

This is a peak at a baby blanket I just made for Ben's cousin's baby (due this month)!
I'll post more pictures in a minute.  I finished it at night and didn't have good lighting
to get full on shots of it.  I took it outside the next day :)

YARN!

I received a Knit Picks order in the mail today!  I love getting yarn!  I love yarn!

The first photo is black and white because there is yarn in there to make a gift, and
it's a surprise.  But the second picture, that beautiful yarn is going to be turned into
a sweet little sweater for Theo*!  Yippee!  Seriously, so excited here.  Even Georgia
was excited.  She is a girl after my own heart.  She loves things made of yarn.  She
once had her aunties' baby doll who was wearing a sweater, and she came over to
me mumbling something, trying to ask me to do something.  So I thought, "Oh, she
wants the sweater off." so I took the sweater off and gave her the baby.  She dropped
the baby and reached for the sweater.  She just wanted the sweater... not the baby.

She also pushes her blankets around in her stroller more often than babies or animals.

edit: *Now that we've discovered we're expecting a girl and not a boy, I will most
likely save that yarn for a future boy's baby sweater! :)

And it's finished!  Other than a tiny (super easy) mouse, I think
that's the quickest I've ever completed a knitting project :)

This is obviously small too, but it was more complicated than
the little mouse.  I'm really beginning to love knitting with
double pointed needles!

I hope the little baby I knitted this for enjoys it!
